The Main Campus Plan began in
1989 and was completed in 1992, establishing the principles
and strategies for UBC's academic future growth. It also
addressed a wide range of issues, from landscape and building
quality to transportation and architectural expression.
Under the direction of Dennis Pavlich, Vice President UBC
Legal & External Affairs, UBC is creating a University
Town that achieves:
- an integrated community within a vibrant campus
- a richer sense of architectural character
- unity and identity
University Town is the product of 15 years of planning
involving collaboration and consultation with:
- the campus community
- the University Endowment Lands (UEL)
- Pacific Spirit Park
- the City of Vancouver
- TransLink
- the Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD)
- a variety of stakeholders and other interest groups

UBC's endowment
fund of approximately $700 million is allocated to medium
and long-term investments worldwide. UBC Investment Management
Trust (UBC IMANT) oversees asset mix and investment manager
selection. For further details see our brochure "A
foundation for excellence".
The brochure provides useful background regarding the important
role of endowment wealth creation and community building
through the completion of the University Town, as well as
