Acadia High-Rise Renovation
The Acadia Park High Rise, designed by the late Vladimir Plavsic and constructed in 1967, is one of the first high rise structures to be built on UBC’s Vancouver campus. Operated by Student Housing and Hospitality Services, the Acadia Park High Rise currently houses student families and eligible couples that include at least one UBC student. The renovation will include a comprehensive energy efficiency renewal of the 14-storey, 93,000 square foot tower at 2725 Melfa Road. The project goal is to improve building envelope efficiency and interior conditions. Preliminary solutions include enclosing balconies, replacement of window and roof assemblies, as well as renewal of mechanical and electrical systems. The renovation will also include upgrades to the fire safety system and interior finishes.
