Old Barn Community Centre

The Old Barn Community Centre, provides a social, recreational and community gathering place not only for the Hawthorn Place and university residents, but also for students for the public enjoying the adjoining amenities. The Old Barn Community Centre is located on a site that was previously occupied by the “Old Horse Barn” – a historic UBC building. This barn was demolished in September 2003 as a result of concerns for its structural integrity. Today the Barn contains “Saltspring Coffee”, meeting rooms, a fitness facility, and a number of social spaces.
