St. John Hospice
A hospice is a special care residential facility for people who are at the end of life and provides a warm, caring environment for the family friends. This facility includes two additional, semi independent components. The first is a day care for those residing elsewhere but who can benefit, along with their families, with a non-overnight visit for care and counseling. The second additional component is academic space to accommodate the Faculty of Medicine’s program in palliative care. The building is a one storey structure with a small lower level. It has a strong stone porch and terrace wall to the west, and a smaller stone structure and covered entrance to the south. The large U shaped of the building provides a protected courtyard for the enjoyment of patients, visitors and staff.
